Somebody asked me at a party last night how "Outrageous Openness" might be different than the other 500 new age and spiritual books cluttering her shelves already. I told her my favorite metaphor. Wishing, hoping, resisting, and 'trying to manifest' are all ways to adapt to the prison cell of normalcy. They say if ONLY there was a prettier rug or a better couch in that damn cell it might be ok. (Or maybe a cute, hot inmate to do time with.) But learning to Align with the Divine and offer EVERYTHING over is a whole other deal. You walk...
Lately, just for fun I've been memorizing a few poems from my past. Cuz I once heard the amazing poet Olga Broumas and she did a reading entirely from memory, eyes shut, swaying in prayer. It totally moved me. So I'm teaching myself a poem or two. In honor of Olga :)) Anyway, I was standing in line at Peets yesterday for my matcha addiction, using the time to memorize this short one that some of you know And just as I got to the front of the line, the guy in front of me turned around and I see...
One of the reasons that I don't write about astrology often, even though I love it and once spent 30 years doing a gazillion charts, is that people can get trapped on the roller-coaster of "Good transits! The road to belonging to Yourself can be long, agonizing and circuitous. Often, as the process unfolds, you really don't know where the hell you're being led. But at some point, if you keep offering yourself again and again to this Inner Divine, if you make a steady invitation, you begin to "belong" to You. You can just feel it inside, growing a tiny bit day by day. This has nothing to do with manifesting ANYTHING. It's an inner sacred road led by Love. It's available to anyone. If you've experienced this, you know just what I mean. Something begins...
The other day a friend and I were having a conversation about a ticket I might be buying. She said 'Well, it's very unlikely you'll get one. At least you better hurry and act fast!!! Everything will sell out and you'll be left out!' This made me smile a bit and I thought of the story in 'Outrageous Openness' called (without god). A bunch of you may know it. Yes everyone will rush to tell you why you can't do certain things..and it's TRUE if you think like a fearful person. But if it's offered to the Divine and it's...
